If you’re thinking of taking advantage of the spring market and selling your home, then I have some important tips for you.
I know that the selling process can seem overwhelming, and you’ve got way too much to do. We are in a seller’s market at the moment, so as long as your home is in reasonable condition, it’s going to sell pretty fast. With that in mind, we don’t want you to get too overwhelmed or spend time and money on improvements to your home that won’t add value.
Here are a few things to consider:
- Things smelling fresh and clean will always win. If you need to do a deep clean, consider doing your windows and shampooing carpets before you go on the market.
- Consider a fresh coat of paint. Just lightening up some colors can make a big difference. Don’t make the mistake of painting your entire home white. The house will feel too sterile, almost like a hospital, and it just won’t seem homey to buyers. There’s no reason why you can’t add some neutral colors to your home.
- Let people see how you live in your home. Don’t panic too much about depersonalizing and packing things away. Buyers know that they’re not buying your stuff, and your house should feel homey and comfortable. Don’t feel obligated to remove every picture from every wall. You can leave a few personal touches around and your home will still show nicely.
We have a number of tips to help you sell your home. If you work with us, we hire a professional stager to give you room-by-room recommendations. That can sound overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Staging can be as simple as moving some furniture around, removing certain things, or updating the paint.
When you hire us, we handle all of those things for you. We make the recommendations and help you coordinate them if you want to make changes. If you don’t want to make any changes to your home and just want to get it sold, that may be possible in this market.
If you are looking to take advantage of the spring market, just give us a call or send us an email. We don’t want you to waste time or money on unnecessary updates to prepare your home for the market. We would be happy to help you!
